Projects Blind and Deaf

“Listening to internet eldy” (“Sentiamoci in online”) Internet brings the blind.

The purpose of “Listening to internet eldy” virtual project to overcome barriers that prevent certain groups of people using innovative technology.
This project has been the development of “Eldy – Keep in touch on the Net”, un software, created for older and visually impaired people so that they can learn to use technology in an easy and fun, Thanks to the intuitive interface, big buttons and guided tours.

Eldy PLATFORM FOR BLIND:

The new software (totally free) was made especially for people with disabilities and the blind eye, so they can be included in social life and to keep in touch with the Community.
The new version was made with Eldy software and a speech synthesizer can read the words on the screen, and the use of certain combinations of buttons, even this category of people who can benefit from using Internet, e-mail, chat, to further reduce the digital divide.

VOLUNTEERS:

Association Eldy, sponsored by the province of Vicenza, has organized free courses to train volunteers to help blind people in the beginning of your computing experience. Represented a positive opportunity for many young people to help people to be more integrated into the world, where the use of technology has become a staple, creating a community where everyone, including those with disabilities, can interact.

PRIZE:

The project was directed by the EU in cases of best practices aimed at reducing the digital divide and He won the Italian prize “Premio Handimatica” for Digital Inclusion.

RESULTS:

To Associazione Eldy this is an important step for people to understand the importance of integrating people with some difficulties, because they also have the right and the ability to play an important role in society.

BASE (Base English for Adults deaf) International Project:

BASE is an ongoing project; Eldy is training deaf people who use the platform Eldy and e-learning methodology.
The starting point is the ease of use and the six buttons Eldy tablet (Eldy App), linked to the sign language for deaf people (ASL).
